DVD vid cam to You Tube blues ;(

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You need to get a program that will rip your DVD's into a file on your hard drive that is compatible with YouTube - such as Nero 8.

To the best of my knowledge, YouTube does not suport the true DVD (VTS I think it is?) format.

On top of that, the way DVD's are set up, the video actually spans across multiple files on that mini-disc you're using.

Search for DVD Rip in Google or How to rip DVD's, and you might start to get a better understanding of the steps involved in converting DVD's to AVI files ect. =)

That's it...the DVD recording has multiple files

Yep yep, do a search for "convert DVD to avi" or "convert DVD to mpeg" and you'll find some programs that will help you get them into a file compatible with YouTube.

I use ConvertXtoDVD to burn my DVD's, as well as Nero 8 with a lot of success, and I'm fairly certain both company's produce programs that will do the opposite.

You can also check with www.download.com to see if there's any freeware out there that does it, but to be honest with encoding video files - the quality reflects what you pay for.
