We had a section dedicated to care sheets but it has kind of been forgotten about. If you guys want to put some together and have Miguel, Varanio, Davo and myself look over them, maybe we'll add them.

Vicious Fish, I think you should make the care sheet forum, a sub-forum in the reptile/ exotic pet part. People would pay a a lot more attention to it. Does that sound like an idea?!?!?!

Its a bit wordy, I think it would be much better if it was broken down into sections with subheaders such as:

Natural History:
size, range, behaviors etc

Housing:

AZA housing standards, filtration, custom building enclosures, lighting, etc.

Feeding:

foods eaten in wild, foods available in captivity and supplements

Health Issues:
common health issues and possible causes

Costs
average cost to house and feed for a year, etc.

Legality

In this way you can snap right to the section you were looking for and it will be much easier to read. When I read the version you posted I automatically started skipping over sections because they were so verbose. It wasn't very visually appealing and a sticky needs to be sweet and to the point. Try to be less journalistic and stick to the hard facts and things that aren't a matter of opinion or hearsay. Not saying you didn't but just elaborating.

That sounds like a cool idea but this section doesn't get that much traffic to have another subforum. For now the sticky will have to do.

Alright. Ill get around to do that later tonight. For now, its a great warm day I'm going hiking

Hello...

I we have decided to get one Cuvier's dwarf Caiman. We have allready built a nice large terrarium for it, however did not think about temperature on the dry part of the setting. We did not build it with closed top, and the temperature in that part of the house (below ground level) is about 15 degrees C during the winter. We can heat the water part to proper temperature 25-27 degrees C, but in the dry part we can only put a heating and UVB bulbs and make him one or two hot spots. Would that be ok for the caiman ? I know it is not ideal or by the book, but my question is will it harm the caiman and will he be able to eat and digest food properli if dry area outside the hot spot is not over 20 degrees C ? Thanx for your help.
