The two 3.5inchers that I had, I took directly from delivery to a 120g tank. One came from a fish store and was shipped to me overnight, the other from LiveAquaria. Both directly into a 120g tank. For 6 months each, not a single one put on any length. They both filled in of course from regular feedings and a good diet, and one was cured of IPs so he was terribly skinny and then filled in to a nice healthy shape, but that was it. Never got any bigger. When I sold them both I said that I would think they would be perfect in a tank around 55g with some dithers like tetras or something else. Very unaggressive was the only weird thing. I figured if they were fahakas they should be killers, but as FatHomer here has shown, each fahaka really does act differently. I was lucky enough to get to decently friendly ones just like he has, however some other people have relentlessly vicious fahakas that wont let anything else in there tank.
