you can use some selcon or a garlic product for the food to help the lion-fish be more drawn to the food as far as tank mate's you can keep a good majority but you'll need to make sure they aren't smaller then the lion or they will be lunch once he settle's in more and start's to eat.

But tankmates in a 30 gallon aquarium?
Could I get anything big enough that could fit in that amount of space?
