Yeah, dwarf pike didn't sound monster enough, and I was watching Empire Strikes Back when I created the handle so ...

We originally kept the first batch of dwarf pikes mixed it w/ her dwarfs but that male ran thru the others in a couple months. He even killed a 5in male, which was the biggest dwarf pike I've ever seen in person. They are doing much better as a trio in a 75.

Hey, that's kind of funny. I just got some buckelkopfs sent to me just a few days ago.
 
Mine came in at about 1.5" already with great color. I can't wait til they get bigger and color up more. And get big enough to go in with some Tapajos regani or sp. Xingu dwarves ...
 
I was leery about putting dwarf pikes with anything too small. I actually kept my regani trio with Geo growouts and they did well... until someone picked off the weaker female, and then the male got rid of the only remaining female. He grew to about 4" long and was really active and healthy, so I put him in my 150 with severums and Krobia. I came home to find him dead one day. I think my breeding pair of notatus did him in when he got too close.

Now I am dwarf-less. I'm growing out Ivanacara adoketa with my Bolivian ram trio in a 40 breeder, but I'm terrified to put anything in there that might make a quick snack of the adoketa. lol
 
I don't know, if I ever found noto's again I'll toss them in with adoketa. They get big and thick and are rather scrappy from all I've read.
