Hello I want to get a dwarf puffer but was wondering if I can keep 1-2 in a 2.5 gallon tank with a 10 gallon filter. I know they should have 5 gallons but my mom says I have too many tanks soni can only get a small one:)

You are correct--they need 5g. I wouldn't keep any fish in a tank that size. Maybe a dwarf frog?

I would choose pea puffers instead, though your filter might be too much for that little tank. If it's a hob style, it might make too much current.

I would seriously advise against it... The smallest freshwater puffer is the dwarf / pea puffer, but even then they do better with 5G per fish...

So to place 2 in a 2.5G is just cruel imho... No matter how great the filtration...

Since lets bot forget these fish are territorial and can be very vicious...

They can live alone, although in a 10g planted with lines of sight broken up no reason why you cant keep a m/f pair with some cherry shrimp...
