Dwarf/pygmy/pea puffer care?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
better if you just do 1, but if you really want 2, get two females and add them at the exact same time. make sure the tank is heavily planted. puffers are very messy fish, but not very strong swimmers, so make sure that you have almost double the filtration, but very little flow. hope this helps!

Have fun with the puffers. I so badly want DP's but don't have the space. You should post pics once its setup lol

don't have the space? just get a 2.5 gallon tank, some plants, a filter, a heater, substrate, and water. doesn't take up a lot of space, but you could only get one in this small of a tank, so if you want 2, you would need 10 gallons, 3 15 gallons, ext.

Space as in no where to put the tank. I can also only have so many tanks setup (3 right now, taking one down in a few weeks though) and don't want my community tank to be turned into a singular species tank. I think I'm going to get Colomesus asellus since they seem to do better with other fish versus the DP's but not sure yet.
