dwarf umbee

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
When i was there they just told me umbee and no one mentioned dwarf to me they look like they are stunted to me and the color is really weak i thought it was a low grade fh looking hybrid of some sort at first glance. I evan asked the guy when are u getting some umbee's in he says we got a proven pair right here and i thought to myself those don't look like any umbee i have seen. Now this lfs has gotten in umbee's befor some years ago and they looked great but i could not get any because i was fully stocked but doh! So i don't know if they trying to pull a fast 1 on u or not like u said at 2 they are pretty good most of the time i don't know what to think of the so called umbee pair but they won't be coming to my tanks that's for sure.

could be nandopsis lstlantus nasty little guys

No matter how good the back ground story gets on these fish they still don't look like umbee's to me i just seen them on thursday they have been there at the lfs for a good long time now. All i am saying is that the colors suck and they look small and stunted i looked right at them the first time i seen them and asked the guy when are u going to get some umbee's ? He said there's a spawning pair right in front of u and i was thinking to myself that's no umbee and i guess thats why they have been there this long u don't want those at2. I have seen this lfs get great captive breed umbee's befor with great colors and a mean streak on fish half the size of this pair. They had some pikes in thier tank when i was there and the pikes where running the show in that tank they where the same size as the umbee's in question just not what i would want in a umbee.

i don't think there is such thing as "dwarf" umbee's.
maybe they were another cichlid, i've only heard of regular umbriferum.
