Just wondering if fish can have the equivalent of dwarfism. I have a female Warmouth that seems to have maxed out at 4.5”. She has a deformed mouth which made this occur to me. She eats a ton and seems healthy otherwise. Parameters are good and she spent most of her life in a 120. I recently moved her to a 30 since she was being out grown by the other fish and starting to get bullied. I’ve had her about 3 years since she was 1”.
Also, assuming she is maxed out at 4.5”, any ideas on one or two tank mates?

Could be stunting?
I have a jack that has only grown 2.5 inches in a year.
Someone on here had a Senegal that wouldn’t grow.
There probably is dwarfism, it would make sense.

I’m not sure what would’ve caused her to be stunted since she’s always been in large enough tanks with good parameters and was well fed, but I can’t say for certain she’s not stunted. Wow, that’s really slow for a JD, does it have anything different about it that stands out otter than slow growth?

I feel maybe there’s a dwarfism mutation gene or something like that. Because once I bought 4 algae eaters, 3 were growing, one just didn’t budge, but after a year or 2, he finally started growing, and almost got to the same size as the other 3.
