Today im starting to boil the monster pieces of driftwood i found on Lake Ontario.
the pieces have be soaking for two weeks and now im using a 55 gallon drum on top of a metal fire pit that Ive built to boil the wood and release the tanans so they dont leach into my tanks.
i think ill keep it burning through the night, do a water change and boil once more.
ive taken some pics for those who are curious and ill try to have them up soon.
until then i have a fire to tend to.

Dude you need to post those pics NOW!!!! I hope you're using lump charcoal or something for that fire, too. It'll take a month for that to boil on a plain wood fire. Epic driftwood boil man. Monsta!

its been boiling now for about 4 hours. It only took about an hour and a half to to reach its boiling point. the pit is build for proper air circulation and fire is blazing fine using regular fire wood.
im trying to find the cord to upload the pics.:naughty:

Fire Fire Fire !! Need to see some pics. :nilly:
