Um... thanks for sharing your input, but you contradicted your own advice. They are in a 225 gallon, and have been kept together for over a year with absolutely no interraction between them..... and pacus need much more than 180 gallons (well over double that, actually)....Piranha101;4588075; said:for one pacus are to aggressive to be with bala sharks or vice versa i know cause i have 4 pacus and pacus get real aggressive when crammed into a small tank pacus should be in 180 gallons+ that what two of mine are in and they are doing GREAT
Thanks. I'm kind of surprised at how depressed this loss made me, it's really the first time I've actually been at all upset about losing a fish, but I guess its just because I know that it was a direct result of a noob mistake on my part.... and it doesn't help that this was my first loss since I first set up the tank back in July of 2009.AreoN;4588090; said:sorry to hear what happened dude... i also have 2 bala shrarks living with a pacu and a silver aro... i hope they don't end up being bullied by the pacu! but so far so good...
Tbh, I'm not sure I could bring myself to sell it (especially right after losing the others)...Yanbbrox;4588143; said:.
As for your remaining fish, I'd try and sell it on rather than risk losing it, monster balas are pretty hard to come by unless you grow them on and they take ages to get to a good size.
How would that have helped?JML1997;4588152; said:You could've put him in a net at the top of the tank.......sorry about the loss, they were really nice
Thanks, but the only problem is that I should have known better, but somehow I still managed to forget (to dechlorinate the water)...AreoN;4588141; said:i've lost so many fishes too in the past due to lack of experience from fish keeping. but one thing is for sure, we all learn from our mistakes! think of it as a lesson thought to you by your balas and maybe... just maybe, it would make you feel less depressed as you are now.
