*If CopperSafe is used with any kind of water treatment to remove heavy metals. The metal removers will break down the CopperSafe and it creates some sort of toxic coppery byproduct that most likely will kill all fish.
I've been using Coppersafe to treat ich for longer than I can remember, and never once had an issue with it, including when treating flowerhorns.
The only time that Coppersafe can cause problems is at lower pH values (below pH 7), and as mentioned it can be harmful to live plants, and invertebrates. The so called heavy metal removers in water conditioners will not break down coppersafe, most will barely remove copper in the parts per billion range. Coppersafe is for the most part a very safe form of chelated copper, that is highly effective at killing ich when in the free swimming tomont/thermont stage.
I would keep the temp under 84F if treating with medication.
