Lately I've been keeping catfish & bass but that got old and decided to try getting back into cichlids if not a flowerhorn . It's been tough to find the right fish.

Luckily that gave me enough time to get a new tank and cycle it. After a few months of searching I found a fish locally that caught my eye and knew he was the one.

A little back history I've been into the FH scene since 2005 and stepped away in 2012. So I have a fairly good knowledge of old and knew species and have always wanted a red eye kamfa.

When I walked into that LFS and seen this guy. Immediately put a deposit on him. Did a bit of research and went back a week later. It's been a tough few weeks of getting him acclimated but here he is in all his glory haha!20200118_205857.jpg20200111_005413.jpg20200106_201049.jpg20200105_180011.jpg20200118_205913.jpg

What a perfect box shape on this guy. Great fan tail too. Nice Kamfa for sure. Welcome back to Flowerhorn.
Thanks! Kind of a snob when it comes to cichlids.. The male needs to have that box shape. I can even tolerate no hump as long as he's body!

What's odd to me is the present day Kamfa. I always believed the GM or KML strains had the box body shape. Now the GM is gone, the KML is like a ZZ with a mad tapered body..

IMO, Dylon is Jackpot. Why was he in a LFS to begin with..

I'm already waist deep in the hobby, luckily this time my new wife is all about the fish so I'm a happy man!
