Land of corn
Anyone else got theirs?
What was your project?
How many hours?

I got mine at 13 by blazing 2,000 feet of trail 3-4 feet wide and widening the existing 2,000 feet from two to four feet and mulched it all by using 189 cubic yards of mulch. I also made benches from salvaged trees.
I had 409 hours and won the title of district eagle project of the year.

That's really cool. I was in cubscouts for like a year. My troop was a total bummer and never did anything besides boring meetings so I quit going. My old man was an eagle scout and we went on way badass trips when I was growing up. Sometimes he'd take half the summer off. .. And our canoe trips included boxes of wine and jimi hendrix cassette tapes. Take that boyscouts !

I really wish they would've had a better program where I lived growing up.

I helped my best friend at the time complete his. We went to a nature trail and picked a million of those invasive mustard plants. They all came back a year later. We tried though

I'm in venture crew too. We've had our share of fun trips.

I went to isle royal in 2011.
Smokey mountains in 2013 we also did New Zealand where we went trout fishing and a whole bunch of extreme sports not legal on the U.S. due to safety concerns. I've done the worlds tallest commercially raft-able water fall and gone sledging. And possibly am going to Iceland this summer.

I was in boy scouts. It was cool, my dad didn't want to do crap with me so I was able to go camping and stuff anyway.

I'm an Eagle Scout as well. I earned mine about 10 years ago now. That is really impressive you earned yours at 13. I've only known one other guy to earn it that early, he really had to bust his butt in order to do so. Sounds like you had a great project as well!

My project got a bit out of control and was much more involved than we had anticipated when planning it. I designed and built a couple benches and 7 signs for the local park district then installed everything. The signs had information on local plants, animals, wetland types and that sort of stuff. Ended up doing all the research, having the insides of the signs printed and then everything assembled. Once it was all said and done I was in the 650 man hours range. At the time it was the largest Eagle project my troop had seen, not sure if it is still that way or not.

I did a few trips while in scouts, none nearly that exciting though. I've done all three Canoe bases, one in the US and two in Canada. I loved those trips. Then I also did Philmont. I thought that was meh. Had a good time but dont need to go back. I'd go canoeing again in a second.

I never got the opportunity to go past tenderfoot. The family moved to France while I was in the middle of my project doing an eastern box turtle grid count in a development area of Long Island.

I'm also an Eagle Scout. I got my project completed at age 15 and finished everything just before I turned 17. My project dealt with conservation; I constructed a chimney swift tower. If you don't know, chimney swifts are an at risk species of bird here in NE Iowa and are in need of nesting areas. My project had close to 200 hours of work and many more than that went into planning due to issues with the zoning and certain ponding areas in my town which restricted my building location options. Got my eagle and two additional Palm awards just before I turned 17.
