hah, good luck mate, its gona hurt O.o
I'll try some of the methods everyone posts and let you know if it heals.
if not i'm taken it out :(

Isn't it only like $10 to get your ears pierced and a pair of earrings? Then again I guess your method was free ? I would just suggest to keep your ears clean, use soap and peroxide. Most importantly, Do not touch them with your dirty hands, and just cough up a little cash next time! ;)

I did a home piercing on accident last year, on my nipple!!! I was brushing off clay dust and a was dumb enough not to put the carving needle down and on one of the sweeps it went in one way and out the outher. Hurt like hell!!!!

Actually peroxide is horrible for piercings(or anything that says not to be used on deep puncture wounds), and if it is infected taking the jewelry out is the worst thing you can do because if it is infected it cannot drain because the holes will close. If you refuse to go to a doctor, get some sea salt from your grocery store and mix up about 1teaspoon per 16oz warm water and clean it with that. A nice lesson on how DIY piercing is bad for you...but if you must do it yourself they do sell sterile piercing needles and you can buy jewelry from alot of sites and have it autoclaved for a small fee, so atleast then your tools would be sterile. Safety pins are a very porous low grade metal that harbor bacteria...and I assure you peroxide/alcohol is by no means sterilizing a thing.

don't just take it out and let the hole close. I had a piercing on my left ear and it got infected a year later, so I took it out.

well, I had a huge bulge in the back of my earlobe (right where the hole was) and it's filled with puss and god-knows-what. it took 2 years to heal.

so please, heal the infection before letting the hole close.

I'm gona try rubbing the infection with warm salt water, cleaning the earing with peroxide ( than rub it off so none gets in my ear), and than putting a small dab of neosporin on the base of the earing. I'm gona do this like 2-4 times a day, and if it dosnt get better within a week i'm gona go to the docs
:(.

my ears are guaged to 1/2 inch, ive had a few infections from streching too fast and causing rips....leading to puss and infection, the swelling will hurt for a few days, i used antibacterial soap........no acohol. and vitamin A & D ointment for keeping it moist and preventing scar tissue....but most of all....DONT' TOUCH IT WITH YOUR FINGERS.. it will just keep getting dirt/oil/germs in it.....good luck. but don't remove the peircing....leave it in.. :)
