Agreed Clockwork. I was responding to the "pearl horseface" recommendation that I assumed was the common name for one of the satanopercas. You could try stiendachneri or brasiliensis with the JD. Although I have never kept them myself, i understand they are both on the robust and aggressive side for geos.

Have you thought about G. brasiliensis? I'd think it's a better match with your JD, although one might argue that it's not an "earth eater". Or some Astatheros species?
