Another great part of feeding earthworms (aside from their source of protein, and watching your bichirs death roll them), they are so easy to clean up when you're done. They don't dissolve into nasty gucky powder on the bottom of your tank like an uneaten pellet, or fall apart into chunks that are hard to get out. Sometimes fullsize worms can even survive underwater for a good long time (considering they are drowning) and when it IS time to get them out, just grab em :) No mess clean up! Gotta love it!

if the dissolved oxygen in your tank is high enough they can survive for "quiet awhile" in water. I'm not sure what "quiet awhile" is but I've read a girl's account of keeping red wigglers in a tank that's aggresively oxygenated. She had them in there for over a week before that msg thread died. She never said anything about them doing bad. Odd because I've always read you don't want to drown them.. but they do respirate through their skin and if there's enough water in the oxygen.. hey?
