Gymnogeophagus species come from Country's like Uruguay & Argentina where winter temps get low, Gymno's benefit from being kept in these lower temps a few months out of the year...

b100- I picked up two of them from HOT also. They were collected in Uraguay. My guess is they came from Ken @ FishFarm.

Score for FishFarm stock. I kind of want to go back and get another eartheater, but I'm not sure that I want to limit my stock when I could take up that space with a different species. Are they significantly happier with conspecifics? I've heard different things.

I think that they're from Spencer Jacks, who also collects with Felipe down there. He did a presentation for Capital Cichlid Association last year!

Spencers farm raising a handful of Uruguayan fish (blue neons, red ceibal and a few more) in Florida. Glad to see that they're entering the hobby.
