Their interest come and go, just like any other material item.

No matter the trend, I will always have atleast one tank stocked with Eartheaters:)

I certainly understand that. I guess I was just shocked because locally, it seems like they are becoming a sudden rage and it happened to tie in with the recent explosion of eartheater threads I have seen here on MFK and a few other sites. Was quite odd to me :)

You can keep them with a large number of SA/CA cichlids. I don't understand were the thought that they have to have an only geo tank or completely peaceful tank comes from. Some of them are even aggressive enough to keep with GT's and texas (brasilinesis goup). I've kept them with chocolates, Uaru's, severums, oscars, psittacus, angelfish, robertsoni, flagtails, discus, and several more. Plus you see tons of tanks with Dats, bichirs, arowana's, peacock bass, and all kinds of other fish with healthy looking geo's.

A lot of Geo's are now tank bread and very hardy to most tap water. No, you can't keep them with red devils and dovii. But you can't keep anything with most of the highly aggressive large CA fish.
I agree with you there, I should have said most SA/CA cichlids. you could keep them with any of the cichlids that you stated above, but I just sorta cherish the big cichlid little tetra zen that I have now and would recommend this setup to any geophagus afficionado....

Same thing's happening around here :) I'm thankful for the variety and quality that's being offered locally.
