Oh sweet. Thanks. I don't want slow growers, since they might get eaten in my tank.Nyvar;4500154; said:I know satanoperca daemon get over 8" since I have 2 wild caught adults that are about 9". Growth rate, I have no idea. Ask me in 6 months. I also have 6 juvies, but I just got them recently. I believe all of the satanopera reach 8", except maybe the mapiritensis. However, JK47 and others can better help you.
Oh not bad 1/2" a month.edburress;4500222; said:S. daemon, S. jurupari and S. leucosticta all get over 8". I don't have any personal experience with daemon, but the others grow about 1/2" per month for me. For Geophagus, G. abalios and G. altifrons are the commonly available ones that grow larger than that.

Interesting. Thanks for the infopeathenster;4500341; said:Orange heads get to 8" too but it may take a while.
I wouldn't characterize S. daemon as fast growers. Took about a year for me to grow a pair from 2" to 8-9" - about the same rate as Ed's other Satanoperca species.
Trying S. acuticeps now and am not sure how big they will be eventually. Definitely not fast growers.
