I have a 125 with an ebjd, nic, rotkeil, 4 sd and some swordtails and tetras so I don't have a lot of free space, I know most eartheaters like to be in groups but really miss having them. Are there any eartheaters that are ok kept as only singles or pairs?

u could do 3 red head geos.

They may be picked on by the nic and ebjd.

I would go with a pair of Geophagus Iporangensis. They are just like brasiliensis, but smaller, and would be able to hold their own with the rest of your stock. I think the vendor Anubias Design might have some.

they could hurt the EBJD.

I like the way the iporagenssis look I'll have to look into those. My ebjd is a fiesty little booger, him and the nic have had their moment and he whips the nic up and down the tank.

So you would recommend a nic/edjd and orange heads as good tankmates?
i had two with my EBJD and he was fine with him. :grinno:

I doubt that. They only reach 4". I think most ebjd wouldn't have a problem unless they were smaller.

How big were they? An adult ebjd can do some serious damage to the orange heads if it wanted to.

He said he only wants 1-2 fish. Leucostica do better in groups.
