do you just buy them and clean the dirt off?

Nope, when I had my RTGG's I just tgoto the local park and dig up worms, beetles, larva whatever and just throw them all in the tank for them to eat, alittle dirt never hurt anything.

One thing I would like to sujjest you guys is that don't over trust those LFS selling earthworms.Everytime it might not be clean and chemical free.Mostly its not about caring your fish health rather its money making business. And for baits its ok.We use it for fishing and not for fish keeping. So it would be beter digging out ur garden and search for those chemical free worms which you fish would love to feed on.And for sure you'll save your money which you could spend on fishkeeping stuffs.

I grow my own organic earthworms in an old plastic flower pot outside in the back yard. I use my vegetable scraps, leaves and some soil from my garden. I make sure that nothing that has been treated with chemical fertilizers or poison gets put in the worm bin. My turtles and larger fish love the worms. I use the earthworm soil as fertilizer. I never have to buy worms again!

i do the exact same thing.

you cant rely on worms from your yard to be safe, just because YOU dont use chemicals. you cant say that worm wasent tunneling through your neighbors dirt who may have treated their lawn or garden with stuff you do not want your fish coming into contact with.

worms are extremely easy to care for, breed fast as cna be, and extremely cheap to buy a healthy stock from an online supplier. if you want a renewable, cheap source of food, order a pound or two of worms from online and start that way. takes nothing but an old rubbermaid bin and some peatmoss or dirt.

feed all my fish night crawlers ... rinse them off .. cut them up .. rinse again .. toss them into the tank and watch the crazyness
