Earthworms for food?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well I doubt my gf will approve of a worm farm in my garage, so best way is....buy bait worms and soak them in water 1 hour before feeding?

Come on....grow a set..you did say that it's your garage.

I mentioned the post about growing them in a 18 gallon bucket or whatever and the look on her face made me not even want to ask. she already let me fill every spot in the house with 7 fish tanks so im already pushing my luck.

I agree. My wife let me keep a box of nightcrawlers in our main kitchen fridge. Your fish will grow fast with them. I usually let them sit in like warm water for 20-30 min then feed, warmer water makes them purge faster

I can keep a box in the fridge no problem. the freezer is full of frozen krill, bloodworms, market shrimp, tilapia, brine shrimp, etc. and I always have live blackworms and mealworms/superworms in the fridge. growing a colony is another story

It wouldn't take a very large bin to start a colony and chances are she won't even go in the bin and wont know whats in it.Your garage might get to be a little too warm if it's not climate controlled though.

Do they smell? I do have a "fish closet" designated to all my fish Crap. Ya living in California it gets waaaay too hot in my garage

Normally no but I guess it would depend on what you put in the container,it should have a lid to keep things from drying out anyway.
