I fed my fish some worms today and they seemed to like them. My question is do they have any nutritional value.
Dont know for sure about nutritional value i would think they would be great!I know guys feed them to there rays.

well I did some research and found very little apparently the rate at which earth worms convert detritus into flesh is efficient so they are high in protein. problem with worms is they make your fish more carnivorous which i don't mind except when they bite my finger!!!! (my jack dempsey just bit me while I was feeding my eel earth worms). a when feeding your fish worms make sure the soil they come from is clean not pesticides or fertilizers. also Ive read that when your fish develop a taste for worms they want nothing else. might I ask what what kind of fish you are feeding them to? my eel (Eeliott) loves them and so does raphy my raphael catfish. as you can tell I am very original with name.

Highly nutritious. I keep a large colony of red worms for this purpose. Did you feed earthworms or nightcrawlers though? earthworms are red and nightcrawlers are kind of grayish.

i feed all my fish worms, off and on, works great if you dont wanna give them feeders

I am feeding my 7 inch peacock bass. I got the worms from the bait store they I guess they are earthworms because they are small and the nightcrawlers that they sell are much bigger. Also why would feeding them worms make them more carnivorous? So would it be safe to say that feeding worms would be better than market shrimp?

Way better than shrimp. My fish go absolutly nuts with earth worms, even the "herbivores" in the tank will fight over the worms.
I think when it is stated that fish will become more carnivorous it means they will become accostomed to live food as apposed to "dead" food like pellets or freeze dried. The natural instincts are awakened when feeding live food and you will notice a vibrance and color flashing during live feeding. They kind of get crazy just like their shark cousins do during a feeding frenzy.:cool:Cool.

This is what it stated for freeze dried earthworms:

Approximate Analysis: Protein 60.0%, Fat 8.0%, Fiber 1.0%, Moisture 8.0%, Ash 10.0%

My Clown loaches eat them like candy!

Keep them somewhere dark and cool so they dont get too warm and melt (I've had this happen, very messy),use damp paper towels as a bedding and they will release most of the dirt that they contain after a few hours.
