Earthworms?

Does anyone know anything about farming earthworms? I think I would like to make worms their staple diet. Worms have more potien than the hikari gold the only diffrence is that they love the worms.

I think you can order online tere are lots of worm farms around. you just need a moist dark place for them .

My farms are in a 58 gallon rubbermaid. I started with 1 pound which is about a 1000 worms and now I have more than I could ever weight. Most people start with a 18 gallon like the ones you can get at home depot for $4-$5. Here's a website that will help you out http://www.deq.state.la.us/portal/default.aspx?tabid=2101. You should be able to check craigslist for worms if not then get them online. You should start with red worms because they are the easiest and require no work what so ever.

Just make sure you keep the soil very moist. I wouldnt even go as far as damp, but always moist. Then put your compost in the blender, and dump it in the soil...you dont even need that much soil, only 3-4 inches probably.

nice this was exactly the info i couldn't find my peacock eel loves them. ( my peacock eel ate from my hand for the first time today)

worm farms are easy, all i did was build a big planter box, split it down the middle, half for plants, half for the worm farm, collected worms from around my place, put some vegis in the soil and covered it with wood and burlap, dunno why but worms love burlap, and everytime i need a worm i just pick up the burlap and bam worms

make sure you dont press the dirt down, keep it loose so they can move about easily

The worms are eating the bacteria growing on the burlap. They do the same with cardboard and newspaper.
