Walmart, Petsmart, or any local bait shop should have clean night crawlers available for you to purchase. Gander mountain or other big hunting/fishing centers will have better prices and a more varied selection of worms though. I have been buying worms for my eels for years, I find its best to chop the biggest worms in half and drop them in a cup of cold water after cleaning them, stir up the pieces a bit and get them agitated so that they release their goop or slime into the water, after rinsing one more time your should have an easier time of eating the little buggers. I actually got this advise from another fish expert on this forum!!! Hope this helped as much as it did me!
