I would be very careful with feeding earth worms you find in your yard… I’m thinking if any of your neighbours are using pesticides worms travel so you may poison your fish… I would buy worms from a bate store…

ok but i dont hav oatmeal and dam i cant get worms cuz my parents use those pesticides in the backyard

Oh than you definatly shouldnt feed them those worms from your yard. You can but them from petsmart. And about using worms from bait stores, I have read numerous articles on how bait store worms usually have tons of potentially harmful bacteria in their intestines from crap that they consume which can possibly harm your fish. So i would just be careful with bait shop worms. And you dont need to use oatmeal if you dont have any, you can simply place the worms in a plastic container that has a moist bottom overnight so that they excrete watever junk is in their system.

Nothing wrong with that. My friends and I do for fishing. Just get a LARGE styrafoam container, poke some holes, use some top soil, add some starter worms and throw some bread slices on top and your good to go.

Pesticide free.

just fyi - kens fish foods has freeze dry earth worms, as well as earth worm pellets. i feed them to my midas and he gobbles them down.

Thanks Cichiss on the bate store worms, I’m going to have to investigate the worm world more… I feed my Koi worms I buy from a bate shop….

I've used bait shop and home caught worms for years, no problems.

I use oatmeal under the assumption that instead of just excreting the junk, they'll take up some oatmeal nutrients that my fish will get second hand.

I understood what you were saying about the oatmeal but since he didnt have any i was letting him know he doesnt have to use oatmeal to get his worms feeding ready. I have heard of people feeding their fish bait shop worms before but i just dont want to take any chances.
