Bottom line: Stability, Cycle & Bio-Zyme are all great products & will speed up the cycle. However, you still have to keep an eye on all water parameters.
The "2-minute method" requires another mature tank of almost identical pH, temp & salinity. Even then, watch the nitrite closely for the first week, since those bacteria are more fragile & may not make the transition as well.
i use stability, i have a cycled tank, i could wash out all my media from my other canisters in the new tank. anything else i could do? i could add a few dozen feeder minnows or feeder goldfish after 24hours. add 50 gallons of water from my other tank. maybe even leave 2 of the fine filter pads in my hob filters.

not exactly true, the only factor that is a great enough to effect the results (in my experience) is salinity , I have never worked with marine tanks, but I do have both brackish and FW tanks, if you us the brackish mulm in a brackish tank it works just fine , and FW - FW of course works, I have tried FW mulm in brackish, and it does not quite work, it does seed the bacteria cultures, in turn speeding up a cycle , but it's not instant.
As for temps and PH , this seems to have little to no effectfor example, I used filter media from my snakehead tank (temp 72 ph 6.5) to cycle my 160 Mbuna cichlid tank, (temp 84 ph 8) and of course I test water parameters any time on both old and new tanks just in case but it's always completely stable...
I have done this with 4 new brackish tanks, and 7 FW tanks this year and have had 100% success rate (with that fw-brackish test excluded, but it was a test not a legit setup) as long as you have fish in there RIGHT AWAY, and don’t be shy with the mulm, you shouldn’t be able to see through the tank.
I'm pro-2 min cycle , any day! wouldnt trust any other method

I say try it! With the 2 minute method its best to fill the tank (use de-chlor), dump in the mulm and add fish right away ( normally put a few gold fish right before i sick the mulm in), without the fish all the bacteria your adding wont have food and will die off... the dirty water wont hurt the fish, and it clears up VERY quickly , if you want to go an extra step you can split the boi media from the established filter and put half into the new one... give it an extra little boost.
start at the beginning of the thread, i went through what to do in detail... it's a simple proces, if you have specific questions pm me... I'l be glad to help
yup setp one, fil and decorate new tank, step 2 turn on new filter (and add a few feeder fish or the newly purchased fish, step 3, dump old filter contents into new tank, remove sponges and or floss from old dirty filter, an clean them in new tank water, the more of the slime the better ,
everything should be up and running including a few finsh in tank when the mulm is added, it be VERY durty get all that slim in there, but it lar up VERY fast, within a ew hours you have a chrystal clear ,fully cycled tank just like it's been running for months.
please post how things go... i have no doubt it will work, but i always am curious, i have recived messages recently from other members who have read this post and tried and had perfect results!
dc- i did everything the way u said. i cleaned both my canister filters in the new tank. added old filter media to hob filters and added cycle. added 12 feeder goldfish. and some food.
nitrates were up to 10ppm but seem to be falling down. but no ammo or nitrite yet. water isnt crystal clear yet but trying after 2 days. added more cycle today. is there anything i need to do to clear it up? or is this normal sometimes.
would adding and nitates by the form of kn03 fert help any? i just want to make sure the nitrate make it.
