/\ this red texas sure looks like a red devil cross to me. I could be wrong...Would a red devil give any of the desired traits crossed with a green texas? Is it even possible to pair these two types of fish up?

That doesn't look any bit like a texas cross at all...
You would have very little trouble crossing a rd w/ a gt. As far as what the outcome would be, you could expect to get something that fades w/ pearls in the mix. A majority of people would say bp are better then rd for many reasons.

Parrots are used to get better finnage and since they fade and also carry the Kok genes, its practially the holy trinity for Masterpiece Hybrid fish.

Well I got a nice faded female from this batch. She laid eggs so I have her to continue the line. I also got a faded one I'm pretty sure is male. Picture below. It's my favorite and probably the best red texas I've breed so far.

No. I won't be breeding her back to her father. I have a few males from another project I'm going to try with her.
