Here are some rules of thumb for those who are inspired.

To set up an aro com tankis a difficult task because if done wrongly you with get dead arowanas!
Rules to setting up aro com tank
1. All arowanas has to be of the same size. This rule cannot be bended.
2. Big tank is necessary. Since it is impossible to create hiding places for them, in a confrontation, the weaker aro needs to have space to evade attacks. They don't need a football field of space to outrun one another since arowanas don't chase for long distances (They're not like cats!) . But they need the space to perform 'sidesteps', during mini confrontations.
3. The more fish the better. When in big numbers, aggression is spreaded out and a fish that loses a confrontation can 'disappear' behind the other fishes with a quick turning.
4. All the arowanas must be introduced to the tank at the same time.

sorry but number 1 and number 4 is not quite true.

i went to miguel's house to check it out, and you whouln't imagine... it's nothing like the pics.... i mean the aros look so much bigger in person... plus they are a lot more than it looks like in the picture... i think there are like more than 10 in there, but it all looks really peacefull, not even bitte marks showing, and you could stare at it for hours, trust me it's incredible. the only thing i think is that it could use just a bit more ligth, since it's 80 cms wide, it has a 4x T5 lamp, and it centers too much the ligth, it looks better if the lamp is hanged from the cilling, at a bigger distance from the aqua.

but tell you guys what, i'm writting a peace for a fish magazine about aros, and this week i'm going to miguel's house with a profetional photographer, and will post his pics after... you'll see;)
