who has them/kept them. i love them...i used to catch them all the time with nets and release them but i set up a small tank with a few i caught. the creek also had some type of chubsuckers as well but i just kept the dace. very low maintenance and look like flying fox fish lol

I assume you're talking about eastern blackside dace, correct? I've kept their western cousins. They are fun fish, but jumpy. A close-fitting lid is a must.

agreed and yea. they are cool little fish. they are more fun and active then tetras... and not as mindless. i know they are cyprinds...they also aren't sporatic and annoying like danios. they are just chill. lol

I have a couple black nose Dace in my native tank. Used to have 6, but 2 found their way out a small gap in the lid. they like to jump when you first put them in the tank. The swim around together and come right to the top of the tank at feeding time. They eat flake food and small pellets with no issues. Only took a couple of days for them to figure out what to eat. I just caught 2 long nose Dace yesterday and put them in, but they are just hiding at this point. the Black Nose did the same when I first put them in also.
