Hi,
Im about to get myself an Eastern Water Dragon, i used to have one in a 3' tank but he ecsaped!

My question is: How big a tank should i get him? i was thinking along the lines of a 6'x3'x2'? does this sound ok? i wouldnt want it any higher than 2' due to the UV lighting not reaching the lizard right?

I am going to build it myself, it should be easier than a Fish tank due since this tank wont need to hold 1000L of water lol, but it will hold a bit, i think i'll put a lagoon in a corner, maybe 3' long.

Thanks for the help!

Water dragons like to climb. I dont think it would be a prob. if you go higher because they r up in the limbs all the time neways. I truly don't even really believe in the uv all that much. Yes, I beleive it does help but I think that it is not as crucial as they make it sound. As long as they get calcium dust. Plus once again I think they would be in reach of the light most of the tim eneways with the way they climb. Just my two cents.
