i have kept plants before but without trying. they simply lived in my tank. my wife wants to set up a planyed tetra tank. i need some ideas for some easy to grow plants to fill up space in the tank. i dont want CO2 injection.

The light management is the most important thing for a low tech setup. I would never use that type of bulb on a FW planted tank of any kind. What type of bulb is it, and what is its wattage?
Stick to low light plants like anubias, amazon swords, java fern, bolbitis fern, java moss, christmas moss, and crypts.
Anubias is nice if you dont have a deep substrate or bare bottom, as you can attatch it to driftwood
amazon will end up getting to big for that tank. just got rid of a couple that was 2 foot tall. guppy grass goes like a weed in low light also hornwort.
