All Cichlids are easy to keep given the correct conditions.

Firstly you need to decide if you want agressive or lame, would it be going in with or cichlids or are you thinking a single fish tank? Then what size of tank and what about filtration too.

Jewel Cichlids...... You dont need a massive tank, they breed like rabbits (or Convicts !), very hardy fish and can proper look after themselves. Nice colours too.

They are African though......so you would have too move forum.......!!!

you can try a Vieja Synspilum...they grow nice size, Awesome coloration, not that aggressive, and just about anything else for a tank 75 gallon and higher...=] oh yea and they are really easy to take care of! If your not interested in them you can try...a Green or Gold Severum =]

yup jewels are easy to keep
beautiful to look at if kept well fed and in a clean environment
would eat anything and are really really owner responsive
the red comes out real beautiful

Look at that stocklist. Dude if you can take care of all those fish, you should be able to handle most any cichlid no prob. Tell us some more information such as what size tank he'll be in and what the tankmates will be. Are you going to put him in with the Arowanas and stuff or will it be a cichlid only tank?
