  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
yeah they will eat their own kind, i seen my 5 pirahnais that i use to have(i had them, only to say that, i have had them. Personaly i think they are wussy asz fishes compared to my pacu.) there are a bunch of videos out there, you just got to go out and find them..

By the way i'm not trying to affen you Piranha lovers.....

Start with a dozen (rbp) at 1 1/4" to get about 8-9 adults at 10". That has been average for me.

Yes they will eat each other. I started with 7 red bellys, and now I have 2 6 inch. As far as them biting the hand that feeds, yes. I was bitten once about a year ago moving one from one tank to a bigger one. He jumped out of the net and like a moron I grabbed him with my hand, and then he grabbed me back. Never did that again. Now when they go in a net a DVD case goes over the net.

Everytime I see this topic title, I think:

"EATING PIRANHA..Wtf...:swear:Who's the hungry mutha funka eating their own p's?!?"

I only briefly skimmed this thread...

As for p's biting their keepers, yes it happens...I have a scar on my right pointy fingure that proves 3 inch red bellies can do some damage...

I was rearranging some Camboba(bushy, bunched plants) with my right hand...All of a sudden, it felt like I scraped my finger on a piece of sharp gravel...I did'nt think anything of it...Untill...I was done and went to get a bucket...Once the finger hit air, I felt "paper-cut-like" feeling on my finger...There was not just a speck, but a light flow of blood...

Any piranha will attack if it's cornered, Reds will try there best to get away, but if trapped or protecting a nest, then watch out!
