EBA Egg Transfer

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Is there a way to tell if there inactive or not progressing eggs? Can you tell if they are alive still?

I can only speak to my limited experience with my severums and their eggs.

usually hatch 3-5 days, if the turn white = dead

moldy = dead

I’d go with the info above! I’m going to transfer my latest batch of eggs tomorrow.

good luck and welcome!

Agree if transferring parents and eggs, there is no need for an airstone.
Not all Artemia eggs hatch at once, I usually feed until the culture looks used up,
in the photo you can see viable shrimp, they are attracted to the hole in the container, because it lets in light.

A shot when eggs are first added

After it appears depleted
I then toss the old salt water and left over artemia eggs to outside containers in the sun, (even though they look depleted), I usually find hundreds adult Artemia a a week or two later.

I did transfer the rock and parents to tank. I assume I won't need the airstone anymore since the parents are there, correct?

Next time leave parents in the main aquarium just remove the Rock, Driftwood, or Ornament with the eggs on it. You could possibly break the bond between the Male and Female by moving them. I suggest putting the parents back and add the Air stone back near the eggs. Sorry I couldn't respond earlier I'm at the job.
