So it's been four days and the eggs are gone. Seems they've hatched im hoping! Here's my fear or at least some of the peculiar things I saw about the eggs.

They were rather small
I saw two tine black dots but they just seemed so small compared to others threads.

Anyways.

I don't see any eggs. Is it possible the mom just ate them? Or do they bury their fry under gravel?

What is a girl to do when she can't tell whats happening lol I don't know if I should just go back to square one or be patient.

It takes around 3 days for the eggs to hatch. Then the parents will keep them in a pit they dug out. They spend another three days in the pit basically learning how to swim.

So look around for the pit, should be close to where ever the pair is spending it's time as they guard the developing fry.

Might have to back away, look at the tank from around the corner to stop the parents from trying to force you away from the fry.

Can you see them ore are they too small to see

If the eggs weren't eaten they will be wriggler's and the parents particularly the female will move them around. At the wriggler stage they will have a egg sac so the fry will not be swimming until the egg sac is absorbed.

So if I can't see the egg sacks then they have been eaten?

I don't see any form of life except the parents

If you don't see anything then take a break and check a few hours later.
Sorry I don't mean to be a pest. But... I dont know exactly what I am looking for. Am I looking for the egg sack, a swimming fry, the tiniest fish burrowed in sand? Like are they obvious to see?

And I still would like to know if acaras bury their young under the sand after they hatch or is are they just floating above the sand?
