Ebay Canister filters.

Wow, my Fluval 404 is my piece of junk filter in my tank... but it is running next to an Eheim 2078 Pro 3 and a Magnum 350. From the reviews I had the impression the SunSun was much more filter than the Fluvals. I am getting close to giving up on canisters all together and going with my sump exclusively. Mainly because the canisters are so laborious to change that I don't clean them very often.

P.S. My Fluval 404 (Got it used with my tank) only leaks when I don't put it together properly... which is almost every time.

For $50 I don't see how you could beat the SunSun. I don't know of any Eheim you can buy new for only $50? I certainly don't think you will get a new XP3 any where that price range.
 
Do you think Id be better of build a sump out of an old 10 gallon or with the sunsun, I figure since I have the tank and plexiglass I mainly need scrubbies and a pump which should be around 50. Id be fine spending 50 on a used canister as well, it doesnt have to be new.
 
i have the large Sunsun on my 125 with Discus and angels and it is doing GREAT! for the price you can't beat it, but like other have said, there are areas that any filter could improve. I think you would be fine as long as you are not severly overstocked, if nothing else, it will be good for a while and then u can upgrade with another filter or sump....
 
I've dealt with kool_goods multiple times and have always had good experiences with them, but the other seller seems decent too. They both have over 99% rating so I would feel comfortable dealing with either of them.
 
Thanks, the only problem I have is if Its broken, I have to pay return shipping, almost half the price of the filter.
Edit-For exchange he pays return shipping, do scrubbies make ok madia for canister filters. Ill prob order from kool_goods if he clears up the 2 people who have neg feedback in the last month, they claim he didnt ship the item and has not responded.
 
Make sure u check to see if the filter comes with media or not. Some of the ones on ebay do and some don't. If it doesn't, then obviously you will have to fill the baskets before you can use it, but that is only like $25 for everything to fill the baskets...depending on what u use....
