got 4 1 1/4" coming home next weekend.

75 is up and rocking with a 20 gal sump 2 pictus used to cycle the tank and are about 2.5" Temp is 80deg PH is 8.

Food coming is NLS fresh flake and Grow when they get larger.

Not sure the temps or ph are the best for my little guys home coming. many sights say 6.5-7 is best others say 7-7.5 is best but my tap along with my tank are 8 should i find some quick way to drop my ph (Peat moss ?) and keep it low in my 55gal reservoir or 8 would do them fine.

Will the existing tank mates co exist with new intruders. Currently one is the top dog keeping one off the bottom and on his toes.

Any other good fish to keep along with the EBJD as i plan on keeping them in this tank for the long haul. Would like to see some Electric Yellow Cichlid or some others that wont overgrow its space.

You may want to test the ph of the water they come in.
To make sure you don't shock them. But they should be able to take 8.
And if that is what your water is, They might as well get used to it.

But I don't know about the electric yellows. They may bug the heck out of the EBJD.

The labs will kill the EBJD u could do a rainbow cichild...

My suggestion would be no tankmates except maybe some schooler till they get larger ebjd are very sensative when younger, and they are also laid back and do not grow fast. Water chem should be ok just acclimate them to it slowly and all should be fine.

If you know how to drip acclimate them, I find this method works the best, especially seeing as the ebjd is so sensitive, I had it set so slow it took all day to fill the bucket they were in, but 0 casualties, so I'll say it was worth it

ok so drip method is the key. Yes on tank mates i will be holding off till the EBJD are larger then any new fish coming or around the same size around 2.5 to 3.

Schooling fish would tetras make a good choice and for some future food?

Something i didn't think about is that buying cheap fish like tetras, from petco or whatever, you have to be careful for parasites and whatnot because ebjd's are extremely susceptible, so be careful, and set up a quarantine tank if you can.

ive been after a cheap tank for quarantine and thought i got one but when i arrived it was larger then stated and the deal was to good to pass up. Now my little girl thinks its hir tank so im stuck now.

You could quarentine on a cheap plastic tub w/ spounge filter. So you dont have to spend $ on another tank.

^ this is true... does not have to be a true tank per say, as it's not for aesthetic appeal... this is a good point that I wish I had thought of when I went out and bought a decent sized tank for quarantine, meanwhile I have a ton of 55 gallon storage tubs... (Not that you'd need one that big of course... a little 5 or 10 gallon should serve you (depending on the amount and type of tetra's you'd want)
