Hello,

I have a female EBJD with a Male regular JD in a 20 gallon L.

I introduced the Male yesterday and the following has occured:

1) The female EBJD lies in the back of a pot with the new male
2) They don't fight - just lie next to each other
3) The male eats everything, while the female (who is normally a pig) has lost all interest in food

My questions are the following:

1) Is this normal behavior?
2) I also have a 2 inch female (regular JD) in the tank as well, should she be removed?

AND FINALLY,

Will the spawn produce ANY EBJD?

Thanks everyone

The spawn will only produce EBJD if the male carries a blue gene. The only way to tell this is if they breed. I believe you should get about 50% EBJD if he does carry the blue gene.

remove the unwanted female... the not ebjd...

and i think they are stressed due to new environment... i would really advice against putting them in a 20gallon.. too small.. what size tank did u house them in...

see if the EBJD female will span in her old tank, and bring the male along too...

new environment always take time for fish to adjust...

The female EBJD has been in the 20 gallon for about two months now... with the other 2 inch regular JD female...

The Male was added in yesterday.

Thanks for the advice.

Does anyone want a free 2 inch female?!? NYC
