EBJD (Female) X JD (Male) Qs?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Where in nyc

If the male is a regular jd then you'll end up with 100% hybrids which look like normal jds. If he is a blue gene jd you will have 50% electric blue and and 50% bgjd. Thank god for punnet squares. ;)

Gotcha - keeping my fingers crossed he is an BGJD....

So let me give you guys an update:

1) I took out the other female (regular)
2) Hours after, I see the male and female lip locked and then breaking apart and the male continually does a swaying back and forth motion
3) They eat like crazy

Day 2 and on:

They no longer eat (at least while I am looking)

Is this normal behavior?

Try reposting in the SA cichlid forum. With your new problem with them not eating.

I agree, using punnett squares to the full extent. As most people are saying the Mlae has to have the EBJD gene. I would let these 2 breed then I would utilize their off spring to the full extent. Breed their offspring and you will have a better chance of getting an EBJD. Hope this doent confuse you, lol.
