Hey guys. I am looking for some advice on my EBJD. He or She is only about 1 3/4 inches long and has been very healthy up to this point. It shares a tank with a companion that's approximately the same size. They have both been very healthy up until today. When I came in this morning, I noticed that the smaller of the two has some white stringy poop. That's the first sign of alarm for me. I looked at the fish closely and don't see any white spots so I don't think it's ich. Also, the tank mate is fine and doesn't appear to be picking on this one fish. In fact, they are very affectionate to one another. This fish didn't eat this morning which really concerns me. They are fed a healthy diet of Spirulina Flake Food with occasional BBS as a treat. Would you remove the fish from the tank and/or isolate it? I'm just not sure what to do. The tank is maintained very well. I do small water changes twice weekly. The substrate is pool filter sand and I have a Fluval C3 HOB filter which does a nice job at keeping everything crystal clear. They're in a 20 gallon tank which should be plenty of room for them right now. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this and I certainly appreciate any advice you might have. ~Melissa~

No, I've not added anything new or changed diet. I had noticed that this particular fish hasn't grown as quickly as the other but I didn't think too much of it because it has always been healthy and eating.

I had a fish that barely ate and pooped white. It had parasites for 3 months before it passed. I now know better and treat anything I get. The not eating part along with the white poops makes me think parasites. Prazipro :) get some. The cichla guys taught me everything (shoutout) lol

Also, do you treat the whole tank or do I need to take the fish out? I hate to separate them because they "love" on each other all the time but I will certainly do what's best.

Thank you so much. Will do. Is this something a LFS or chain store will carry?

Maybe, I was at work at the time so I ordered it Next day Air to be safe. I even paid for Saturday delivery lol. I was not about to lose another fish. It cant hurt to do it ya know. Good luck!!!! I hope everything works out.

Edit. You can treat the whole tank. Its nothing but good for them. Especially if the other fish caught it or something. It cant hurt.

You can treat the tank with Prazipro or if you can't find that use API General Cure, follow the instructions on the package. You should also soak some food in either and feed it to the fish. If you use API General Cure put the contents of one packet in a plastic cup use enough water to desolve it, soak some food for a bout 15 - 30 mins and pure it into the tank so they eat it. you can do the same with a couple of drops of Prazipro.
