Growth rates depend on a lot of things. When they are fighting off parasitic infection they grow a lot slower ;-)
I wouldn't plan on keeping one long term ina 38 gal tank. I have one that is 9"... it would have been sad if he were stuck in a small tank under the assumption that he wouldn't grow so large. He is a beautiful fish...
I've seen some have growth spurts where they put on 1/2~3/4" per month... but those spurts only last a month or two...
so i shouldnt get one?
i was under the impression that EBJDs stay smaller than regular JDs and only reach like 7" or so.
