Anyone have advice on power-growing Electric Blue Jack Dempseys? I have a 1.5" that I'd love to get up to a respectable size as quickly as possible.

its not going to be different than any other cichlid or other fish for that matter......just keep up with the good condition of the water and a good diet and it'll grow......mine is 2 and a half years old and hes seven inches......it takes time but it's worth it..........
they grow s-l-o-w-l-y. It will take a few years to reach its full size, but if you do raise one to be a large adult.... *whistles*

I've heard of water changes stressing these guys out and leading to death (due to other things as well, I'm sure). How much is too much?

5. frozen cichlid blocks (Cichlid Delight is the name)

i feed mine freezedried bloodworms, frozen krill, Hikari Cichlid Gold, and guppies once a month..........he has great coloring is real active and he's never looked better than he has lately .........just my 2 cents............
I added another juvenile EBJD to the tank last night and found my original dead this morning. Ironically about 10 hours after a water change.
