EBJD Growth

Waterchanges can be tricky especially if you don't use enough dechlorinator. Public utility companies have been known to use varying amounts of chlorine and chloramines, so the same dosage may work fine one time and not the next. Also, if your tank is relatively new, then your chemistry could be out of wack. New Life Spectrum foods are all I use and have had outstanding results, including with the EBJ's. Place your EBJ's in a decent sized tank (at least a 55gal) bring the temp up to 80, and keep the water clean and they should grow very well.

My tanks are only about 4 months old so I've been watching the chemistry. It looks like I had a very slight nitrate spike which may have accounted for the death. My remaining is only a little over is maybe 1.5" on a good day so I'm going to move him to a 40G breeder (wide footprint) and hop[e that will do.

That would be good for him..........I agree with the dechlorinator, its always a good thing to use........i forgot to use it on my 75gallon one time and the EBJD got very stressed.......that may have got to him.......but good luck with the second one........hopefully he'll grow big...........

I have had my baby EBJD since summer and he has not grown a whole lot, I believe this is mainly due to his sickness I fought away. He was sick when I bought him and nearly died multiple times untill I found a med that worked. He is doing much better and I would say he has doubled in size since I got him. I feed him bloodworms and hikari gold.

What tank mates do you guys keep with your EBJD?
