Well after 3/4 days of introducing the fm in the tank, there are eggs.

Shes (jd) about 2.3" while Bigunz (ebjd) is +5"

Now the issue i got plenty other fish in there the 3 ebjds are no issue they fear bigz but i also got 6 leopard bush fish, and they take out molly fry quite fast.

The eggs are on a big ass chunk of wood so removing them would be a hell of a challenge. Also they are near the filter entrance.

The filter ill wrap the mesh of a fish net so they don't get sucked in.

So should i get a separator for the tank, its a 75gallon so half should be enough. Or should i go fishing and dump then in my 30gal with my 6" wolf.

That is a nice looking EBJD and congrats on the eggs! I think you should put in a divider and wait for the fry to hatch and then suck em up with a gravel vac

First... Nice EBJD. And I like the set up.
To try and answer your questions...
Separate dont move the eggs... Can you move the filter? When they are very small (less than 2 weeks old) the filter will over power your fry and claim lives. If you see aggression between the parents separate the male. The mother will do a better job caring for the young. Unless youre trying to feed the wolf dont put em in there. If you cant find a separator big enough for your 75, go to home depot and grab a peice of plexy glass.. Measure it, Cut it (a razor knife works fine) and drill small enough holes for water to get through but not the fry... I also put an air stone in front of the plexy to discourage any fry from trying to swim through

This is how I separated my blue gene fry... This is in a 125 gal

I strongly disagree with sucking them up with a gravel vac :screwy: Not the best idea...

The holes in the plexy should be no bigger than 1/16"

Good Luck

If you have further questions check out a couple of threads I got here just recently "Blue Gene Update" or feel free to PM me.

The Leos are about 3" the Wolf probably would not eat them....

Ill try to get a divider, will more the filter entrance to the other side while having the spray on both sides to keep the water good in both parts of the tank.

Bigz is not a overly aggressive fish but ill move him over if he becomes mean. The fry will be JD so they should be tough and survive with little interference from me.

How do you separate all the fry from their parents in a large tank once they lose their yolk sacks? I hope you are not implying you chased them down with a tiny net.

2 nets.. Chase them with a med net into a large net. Pretty easy... I wouldnt move the fry for at least 2 weeks and would suggest longer. I dont move mine for over 2 months. As long as they are separated from the predators then why bother? Trying to find little tiny black specs in a planted tank (or any non bare bottom tank) is a pain in the butt. IMO I would separate and wait

I agree that they should not be moved for a while, but that sounds incredibly hard on my back. I hate being hunched over my tank trying to catch a large fish with a net, let alone hundreds of tiny fry that I can barely see hiding amongst the gravel. I do not see a problem with a gravel vac with a large mouth that can gently suck up tiny fry into a bucket for further transport. The other way sounds much safer but much more tedious that probably achieves the same results
