I got this young EBJD for about 2 months now.. dont think he's grown much.. maybe .5" ....

He's been eating Blood Worms so far..

But now.. he has a HUGE BLOTTED STOMACH!!!

I have no idea if he's dying or not.. but.. I can tell that he's not swimming normally.. He looks like he ate a huge weight... he would swimming normally.. and then sink to the bottom....

He's also breathing heavier than usual.. I took a picture of him when he was on top of the water breath...

I have been doing water changes with this fish.. so my water parameters is fine.. He's living with 3 other JDs at the moment. no aggression from the other fish..

But i just notice he has a huge blotted stomach...

IS HE SICK???

OPPS.. heres the picture

dude, bloodworms should only be fed to him probaly twice a week.....I would feed him pellets instead...Dont feed him for a about three days....looks like you been over feeding....just give him about three days to digest the bloodworms....but like i said bloodworms should be used as a treat not as an everyday food....just go with pellets for now on.....hikari gold...good luck.....

thanks.. but owellz.... his stomach burst..

I guess i'll try again with another fish.. he was the only 1 left of 2 that i bought..

Gosh.. i hate it when an expensive fish dies..

owellz??? dude you need to learn how to feed your fish, that aint cool man...... where did you buy that ebjd at???

sounds and looks like bloat, get some epsom salt (found at walmart) or tetracyclin (sp?) and DO NOT use aquarium salt.

and there is nothing wrong with feeding your fish lots of bloodworms.. :screwy:

give him a day to digest, if it doesn't get any smaller.. than its probably bloat.

Salt doesnt help unless its breathing problem

I think he ate something he wasn't suppose to..

I kinda wish EBJDs are cheaper... AND Bigger..
I only know of one other guy who sells them..

bloat is a scary thing in fishes my kirin parrot had a bloat and it exploded after a week.
