thanks for the input guys...

Ya i saw Rapps' Huge EBJD on aquabid.. but its a bit big.. and my JDs are no bigger than 4" so can't really breed them yet..

I will get more ebjds in time.. but i might be lookin into 3" and above size rather than 1.5" frys...

I know of one guy around my area who has EBJDs.. and a Fish store some 45mins away..

Also.. I was feeding it not just bloodworms.. but also FH pellets...

The fish was acting weird and he was breathing on the surface alot.. so maybe thats why..

I think from now on i'm going to order EBJDs from quality breeders with stronger genes than the usual EBJDs stock..

not to derail but whats this about bloodworms? ive been in the hobby for a couple years and breeding flowerhorns, and other hybrids for 5 years, plus i breed feeder cons and hybrid cons as a pet project. i exclusivley feed fry bloodworms untill they are 2-4 inches and then switch to pellets and always have. i never had any problems. please can someone clarify this because i never have had any bloat or intestinal issuses and i would like to know if this is true.

I dont think its an issue of feeding..

I think its an issue of genetics with EBJDs... i got mine from an unknown breeder.. and from what i've learned from allthingsdempsey.com Mine looks very deformed.. so that could be the reason why it had a stomach blott and resulted in death...

My othe FH frys are doing very well and no such problem occur.. it was my first EBJD... and from what i've heard it happens pretty often... DYING when young that is...
