EBJD sick

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Treated hime again yesterday (THUR) fed him this morning, he ate a little. I will treat him again Saturday. That will be the third time.

Is that enough treatments or should I keep treating for a while longer?

after the 3rd treatment, do another water change and then monitor him for a week, see how he's doing

and yeah, key question is, do you still see white poo ?

yeah i would just do the 3rd treatment and do water change and monitor like already stated. its a really good medicine but not really designed for long term use so not sure if it would hurt him more than help past the prescribed dosage. but yeah do all 3 treatments no matter how well he is starting to do or even if his poo looks normal but still make sure to monitor closely for these signs while doing the treatment and to see whether he continues to do well after the treatment is over

I seen white poop earlier today. I'll do a water change tomorrow and treat him again. He is still pretty shy, he hardly shows himself at all and eats a little bit.

I noticed this morning my ebjd is scraping off the decor of the tank. I will treat him again today. Should I give him a 4th treatment on Monday? Thanks

I will jump in here as EBJDs are prone to intestine parsites, but the problem is not as bad as most people imply.

At the size you say he is you can treat as many times as necessary to clear up the problem just make sure you make water changes as directed and keep the temp 83F to 86F. In addition I suggest feeding medicated food at least every two weeks as a preventive. Another solution is running UV sterilizer in EBJD tanks that will control a lot of parasite problems.

I have 2 EBJD both have thier own tanks. 1 eats anything, the other will only eat frozen blood worms and brine shrimp. The latter one is perfectly healthy but not as colourful as the other. Is there any way to get to eat pellets and other foods.

how big is it? if it is larger than 3in than you can try fasting it for a couple days and keep trying pellets until it eats them. if ti is completely by itself you could always add some schooling barbs or something and then when he sees the barbs going for the food he will be more likely to go after it as well
