Hi all,

One of my ebjds has some
Sort of white growth on the right side of his belly. What is this? They seem to have some white growth on the mouths as well... Initially I thought it was from liplocking.

Thanks!

Looks like mouth fungus. Please post your water parameters as well but I would start treating with erythromycin or tetracycline. You should PM Aquanero as he is the expert on this.

Yeah try to get in touch with Aquanero he helped me so much when my EBJD had anchor worms which looked similar to this. If you can't get in touch with him id say treat with API General cure, it helps with a lot of external parasites and can be bought at your local petsmart, treat as directed and be sure to do water changes after your treatment is over to remove leftovers.

I have now completed the 5 day Waterlife Myxacin treatment.
However some of the EBJD's still seem to have the white growth on their mouth.

I am wondering whether this is mouth fungus or Lymphocystis? Not sure what to do really....

Can you post water perameters in numbers including Ph and hardness. What are your water change schedule and filter cleanning scheduale.

Temp: 25 degrees Celsius
TDS Meter: 575
Nitrate: 5-10 mg/L
Nitrite: 0
GH: >14 degrees
KH: 3 degrees
PH: 6.8

I am suspecting some of my fish might start having HITH as well... But the holes in the head of my Goldsaums are perfectly symmetric, on all the fish? Seems like the pits are just getting ever slightly larger as they are growing.... I am hoping I am not going overly paranoid.

Try treating with metronidazole, this can be conbined with Nitrofurazone and/or Furazolidone (API Furan 2) I'm not familiar with the meds available in the UK but the names I gave you should help when looking at ingreediance. Do a 50% water change and add 1 talbespoon of salt per 19L of water. myxazin is for fungal infections and this appears to be a protozoan infestation my guess would be Hex as the most likly candadate.
